Eaton Lands is an area of public woodland, allotments and playing fields in Hythe, Kent. Since 2020 I have been carving the felled wood here. In 2026 I was made artist in residence and am currently working on large scale permanent works for a new sculpture trail. Many of the pieces that you see here 'lived' in the woods for at least a year, often longer, it is surprising how much the people enjoy and respect the sculptures although on occasion there has been some mischievousness as a result of which I am now working on standing stumps for resilience. Each of the sculptures is treated with oil to protect them from rot, preserve their natural colour and make them resistant to weathering, this enables them to last for several years outdoors.
